Last week Sydney Social 101 was invited to attend the launch event for Darlinghurst’s newest sophisticated, quality late night dining and imbibing destination .
With over 100 guests in attendance from media and influencers through to industry and food & wine connoisseurs, it was an indulgent experience and feast for the soul.
Showcasing the finest food by head chef and ex Rockpool Bar & Grill’s Kim Douglas, guests enjoyed an amazing selection of canapés from Macquarie’s scotch egg; quail egg, blood sausage, breadcrumbs, fermented chilli and cider hot sauce through to the Jerusalem artichoke soup with apple walnut salsa, and finishing with Mocha porter and Irish whiskey caramel deep-fried ice-cream … to name only a few.
Harriet Leigh, ex manager at The Hazy Rose, ran the bar, and some saporous cocktail creations including the Seasonal Sgroppino – Ketel One Citroen Vodka, Gelato Messina Passionfruit Sorbet & Cruzat Classico, the Corn ‘n’ Oil – Pampero Especial Rum, house made falernum, Angostura Bitters & fresh lime, and lastly the Left Hand Cocktail – Bulleit Bourbon, Campari, Sweet Vermouth & Chocolate biters
DJ’s Travis Hale and Dan Rowntree kept the beats running throughout the night.
Beautifully gritty and centrally located, Henrietta is the lovechild (and brainchild) of some of the biggest names and influences in the Sydney food and beverage scene – owners Simon McGoram, Eddie Desouza, Josh Evans and Dominic Carnevale, also behind Bondi’s favourite Neighbourhood, have once again joined forces to create what they love, and more importantly what they were looking for – quality late night dining and drinking offerings. Along with fellow owner Alex Howell, they have Porteno’s Pete Learmonth to manage the floor.
Henrietta Super Club was named after Elizabeth Henrietta Macquarie as a little tip o’ the hat to Darlinghurst’s history – the area was named Henrietta Town after Lachlan Macquarie’s wife in the early 19th Century.
Take a peak at the delicious menu we were treated to (to say Sydney Social 101 overindulged is an over statement – it was just too good!)
