Located along the stunning Woolloomooloo Wharf, China Doll is one of Sydney’s gems.
Offering a diverse menu of modern Asian style dishes with a wine and cocktail list to match, it’s eclectic, stylish atmosphere makes it the perfect restaurant for a romantic dinner for two, but with the holiday season fast approaching, their buffet menu makes it the perfect place for large party bookings, events and functions.
Last week SydneySocial101 dined in style, tasting some of the top picks of the menu and pairing each meal with a delicious complimentary wine. Our favourite entrees were Wonton – Pork Prawn and Shiitake with black sauce and the Dumplings – prawn and green bean with Chinese red vinegar.
A definite must-try at China Doll is the Duck Pancakes, a flavour explosion do-it-yourself style meal.
Based on recommendations from the lovely staff, our choice for mains were the Crispy pork belly with chilli caramel and nam pal phrik, and the salt and pepper prawns with wok tossed chilli and garlic.
Then if you’re feeling like a little something sweet, you cannot go past the Coconut Sago. The strangest, but most delicious texture of tapioca balls with passionfruit, the Coconut Sago comes accompanied with homemade raspberry, coconut and lime and vanilla bean sorbet – one word: devine!
