On Thursday 17 July, Macquarie Centre will open its Fresh Food Market, boasting an expansive range of new food and speciality retailers. This is part of the first stage of the $440 million redevelopment of the centre, which will be a one-stop-shop for all local shoppers’ fresh food needs with over 37 retailers opening, 29 of which are new to Macquarie Centre.
The Fresh Food Market includes a new Coles and ALDI Food Store alongside a refurbished Woolworths, delivering Macquarie Centre the supermarket trifecta. Another highlight will be Japanese retailer, Daiso, which offers a huge variety of Japanese products at one affordable price. The Fresh Food Market will also include market style eateries such as Costis Seafood Market Macquarie, Inlakesh Living Foods and F & L Gourmet.
To celebrate the launch, from Thursday 17 July to Sunday 20 July, the new Fresh Food Market at Macquarie Centre will host a festival of activities to excite shopper’s five senses.
Macquarie Centre Manager Robert Caruana said: “To celebrate the opening weekend, we are hosting a four day fresh food festival, showcasing the incredible new offering for our shoppers. The must-see weekend of activities will feature cooking demonstrations, free food samples, and amazing floral and food displays that will be sure to invigorate shopper’s five senses. Make sure you come visit us to experience everything our world-class fresh food market has to offer.”
As a special launch offer, all shoppers that spend over $150 in one day in the Fresh Food Market will receive a free copy of The Oz Harvest Cookbook (limited numbers available).
This will be the first of two stages in the $440 million redevelopment of Macquarie Centre, with the second stage delivering a new two level fashion galleria in October featuring Australian and international designers and a two level David Jones.
AMP Capital Shopping Centre’s Managing Director, Bryan Hynes, said: “The redevelopment of Macquarie Centre is part of a $2.8 billion program of shopping centre upgrades being implemented by AMP Capital Shopping Centres and its investors. Upon completion, Macquarie Centre will be the largest shopping centre in New South Wales and we’re thrilled to see the opening of the first stage of this exciting project.”
